Serguei Volokhov - peintre russe-Russian artist

Cet homme a surgi dans ma vie tel un magnifique cadeau - réminiscence de l'époque où les artistes dissidents anti-conformistes n'avaient d'autre choix que de créer en cachette des oeuvres qu'ils exposaient dans des galeries-appartements lors de vernissages clandestins moscovites.

Cette ère est révolue,  le non-conformisme appartient à l'histoire et Serguei Volokhov en fait partie. Nikita Khrouchtchev appelait ces artistes " des abstractionnistes " et leur art  - " barbouillage".

Né à Moscou en 1937, Volokhov  fait partie des " artistes non officiels " puisque leur art ne trouve pas de place dans les institutions artistiques de l'État. Beaucoup de ses amis, Komar et Melamid entre autres, las des persécutions, feront  des pays occidentaux leur refuge. Mais pas Volokhov. Rejeté, renié par le régime, il a connu  une  longue traversée du désert.

This man has appeared in my life like a gift , reminiscent of the time where Soviet nonconformist artists could no longer hold delusions that the state would recognize their art. They had no choice but to take part in Moscow apartment exhibitions.
Khrushchev  scornfully called  them abstractionists and their works - a daub.

Today as  "movement" nonconformist art is part of history, and so is Volokhov, but in some respect nonconformism in the mid-1970s was the beginning of the end of the Soviet regime.

He was born in 1937.

In the Soviet Union, art was doubly real precisely because it had no relation to reality. It was a higher reality.... The goal of nonconformism in art was to challenge the status of official artistic reality, to question it, to treat it with irony. Yet that was the one unacceptable thing. Many of  Volokhov friends, artists such as Komar et Melamid fled the country. But Serguei stayed and chose to work and exhibit clandestinely.

Pour moi, il a signé de deux noms.  En attendant, préparons le vernissage en mars2013.
